Nursing assistant training is a relatively quick way to qualify for a job in the healthcare industry. On the average, you can become a certified nursing assistant (CNA) within 6 to 12 weeks. In that time, you would have been equipped with both theoretical and practical skills through your nursing assistant training, enough to work in a medical or care-giving facility such as a nursing home.

Red Cross and CNA

One nursing assistant training school is the Red Cross. There are 36 cities nationwide that offer Red Cross CNA training. Among them are:

* Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) - offers a four- (4) week certified nursing assistant training for 1,400 dollars. Classes are on weekdays from 8 am - 4 pm. They have been offering nursing assistant training for 12 years.

* Coosa Valley Chapter (Rome, Georgia) - started offering day or evening classes since 2003. It has small classes of 14 students under its certified nursing assistant program. The course costs 660 dollars. 

* Inland Empire Chapter (San Bernardino, California) - Red Cross CNA classes has been ongoing for 15 years. It offers a 164-hour nursing assistant training at daytime for 1,750 dollars.

A certified nursing assistant job is almost always ready for someone who attended a Red Cross CNA class because of the organization's long tradition of training nurse assistants.

So if you are looking for employment opportunities or CNA careers during these difficult times, your best bet would be to take up a nursing assistant training program to be on your way to a most in-demand job.
